Guess who...

Some one got into the sprinkles...Can you guess who?
This person has these cute hands
And this cute mouth.
Did you guess?...

It's Emma!!
Although she tried to deny it at first, the evidence was too strong against her.
She admitted to the crime. :)

Funny's from the Bundy's

As I posted on FB-
Emma doesn't pretend to be a princess, or mom, or anything cute like that. No, the last couple of days she's been coming up to me and saying, "Mom, I'm an old lady." I'm not quite sure what sparked this interest of being an old lady or why she thinks it is so fun, but it's been quite consistant over the last couple of days that she will pretend to be an old lady. Pretty funny. The last time she told me she was an old lady I asked, "why do you want to be an old lady?" to which Liam replied, "Because she's rich, she's got Cash!" I guess old lady's are rich. No wonder. :)

We have a lot of squirrels in Iowa. It's fun to look out your front window and see two or three (huge!) squirrels running around. The other day, at the dinner table, Tony was telling me and the kids something and right in the middle of his sentence he said, "Squirrel!" Yes, that's right, just like Doug in the movie UP. He saw a squirrel and stopped everything he was doing and said squirrel. Needless to say, I made fun of him quite a while after that. It was real funny.

We have been potty training Emma for the last couple of weeks. She's been doing awesome, and stays dry most days, but she does accidents. One of these accidents happened on a day that I was doing laundry so I helped her out of her wet clothes, threw them on top of a basket full of dirty clothes and continued about my day. Tony was getting ready to go work out so he got dressed and then came to me and said, "Are you sure those clothes in the basket got dry, because this shirt is feeling a little bit damp." I asked him which basket. Then (giggling) pointed out that those clothes hadn't been washed yet and I had just thrown Emma's wet clothes on top. He changed real quick. I laughed real hard. :D

Snozberries, who ever hear of a snozberry?

I sent Tony to the store the other day and he came home with strawberries. Not just any strawberries, but strawberries the size of your head (okay, there might be a small amount of exaggeration in that last statement...small amount). They were huge!! Some of the biggest I have ever seen! So this morning for breakfast we had cereal and giant strawberries!

They were delicious!!
On a side note-- Yesterday was Mother's Day and Fox gave me the best Mother's Day present I could ever ask for. After 7 months and 4 days he slept through the night and I got my first full night sleep in, well, -considering that I didn't sleep through the night a whole lot when I was pregnant- I would say almost a year. When he woke me up this morning (around 5) I groggily got up and then started thinking...'I don't remember getting up last night...did I? I don't think I did...' If I did I was way out of it. But I think he actually slept through the night. It's a momentis occasion. I think I'll go eat some ice cream to celebrate. :) HOORAY!! Hopefully this is the gift that keeps on giving and not a one time deal. :)

Pulling out the Big Guns

This week we went to the Rock Island Arsenal Museum. Rock Island Arsenal is a military base where they build weaponry (mostly ammunition and stuff). It's about 15 minutes away from our house and is on an island smack dab in the middle of the Mississippi river. We had to show our ID to a security guy, to get in, to be able to visit the museum, it was pretty awesome. When we where there they were bring a new gun in for display that was actually being built on the arsenal (first one since 1903) and that is actually being used over in Iraq. Big ol' black thing. Tony was drooling all over the place ;). It was a pretty cool place. They had walls filled with hundreds and hundreds, if not thousands, of guns that have been used by the US military.
Me and the kids in front of rocket launchers
Literally hundreds/thousands (this was Tony's kind of museum)
Emma checking out the weaponry.
Liam
Sooner than later, the kids got bored of looking at guns so we checked out what else they had to offer.
Like a dead horse from the early 1900's. It was falling apart but one of the kids favorite part.
Tony and the kids showing their muscles in front of a cannon
They had a lot of pretty cool cannons
They also had a room where you could dress up in different uniforms.
Liam and Emma sport the old school look :)
Fox in an awesome hat.
Liam and I
Tony and the kids in current uniform.
They are suppose to look mean in this one. (I think Emma pulls it off the best, LOL!!)
A Short drive away from the museum, they have a park that has all sorts of tanks and rocket launchers.
Fox and I in front of a big ol' Missel
Tony and the kids by Tony's favorite tank. (he said it looked the coolest because of all the barrels)
You could climb up on this tank. It was fired upon in a war (I can't remember which one), so the yellow on it shows all the damage. Pretty crazy.
And last but not least the BIG GUN. This sucker was the biggest they had to view. It can shoot up to 18 miles!! CRAZY!!
I didn't think I would be entertained at a museum all about guns, but it was actually pretty cool.

I have an Arch Frienemy

I have an arch frienemy. He's the kind of person that always has to be right. Don't get me wrong, I like him, we are friends, I enjoy his company, but once...just once I want to be right! And then I want to laugh in his face chanting "I'm right and you're wrong! I'm right and you're wrong!" while doing some type of bum shaking dance. It sounds incredibly childish, and it is, but that's what I want to do. The only problem is that arch frienemy has a photographic memory or something.
The other day me, my family and arch frienemy and his family where watching Disney's Alice in Wonderland. We started talking about how weird and crazy it was and I spouted out - something that I've always been told from everyone I know- that the guy who wrote Alice was on drugs while he wrote it. Arch frienemy disagreed and said that Lewis Caroll (actually naming the authors name) was not on drugs but wrote the story down from a bedtime story he told his daughter.
I googled it.
Dang.
Why does arch frienemy always have to be right??? Can't he just let me live in my own dream world where THE GUY who wrote Alice in wonderland IS on drugs? It makes so much more sense to me, and it would make me right and arch frienemy wrong. Dang. But now my Alice in Wonderland world is shattered. I will never be able to watch it again in the same way. ;)
Darn arch frienemy.

a little bit of this, a little bit of that

First off I promised I would post pictures of our new computer. So here they are (sorry about the junk around it, I took the picture last second before I did this post)

She's a beaut- isn't she? (dreamy look in my eyes)
You may be wondering where the tower is. There isn't one. All of that stuff is in the monitor, so it makes it extra easy to put anywhere (and extra easy for a thief to steal it, but you get what you get I guess ;) ) It's mostly pretty awesome to work on. The monitor is huge and a mac is a lot easier to work with and get use to then I thought it would be. Pretty awesome.
These next pictures are taken at a park that is walking distance from our house (well, maybe about a mile-mile and a half away).
Cute Fox swinging
Adorable Emma swinging
Liam riding a horse holding his invisible sword
Emma riding an elephant
So remember the other day on face book when I posted this

(okay for someone who's never lived in Iowa) we just had the "sever weather" sirens go off and I am flipping out!! All I can picture are giant tornadoes (we are in the tornado belt, you know) thrashing trees, and the roof being torn from my house!! Yikes!!

Well there was no tornado, but there was a ton of rain. I mean a TON of rain!! That lasted for hours. It was pretty cool.
Out my back window
You can see how in storybooks they call it "sheets of rain." It literally looked like sheets or walls of rain.

Out the front window (Ma, our house mimics the ones you can see. We live in a nice brick one... with black shutters...just so you know, for when you come visit :) )
Evidently the sirens go off quite often here. So I guess I'll have to get use to it. But it still kinda freaks me out. Stupid sirens.

Confessions of a twenty-five year old drama queen

'I love my life and I'd never trade'

-Garth Brooks Every Now and Then

Today, as I was blog browsing (you know where you go onto your friends blog and then click on there friends link and so forth and so forth. Blog browsing sounds better then blog snooping or ease dropping), I came across several blogs that talked about how so-and-so where graduating or had graduated and how they were so excited. The more I came across, the more I started thinking 'gee, if only Tony started school after his mission, we'd be done with a few working years under our belt.' Needless to say I started to get a little depressed and mostly jealous of all the people who had already put in the long years of school to earn their degree.

Frustrated I clicked out of my browser and headed down stairs to the kids and dirty dishes I had been neglecting while I blog browsed.

As I grumpily fed my kids and did the dirty dishes I began to give myself some well needed advice. Live the life you have. Be happy with it. How many other people get to live the adventure of going to school thousands of miles from where you grew up, with three little kids, and try to make ends meet with the little amount of money coming in. Really? I don't mean that last sentence sarcastically, I mean it with all seriousness. I am living in a beautiful town with beautiful sights that I would probably never seen without coming here to go to school. Our three little kids are never going to be this age again. They are never going to count to twenty by skipping 15-19. Or sing their sentences as if we were in a musical. Or have giant (I mean GIANT) blow outs where all you can think to do is put them in the bathtub, clothes and all, and just laugh. They are never going to be that way again.

And as far as money goes, as Grandpa George says on Willy Wonka

There's plenty of money out there. They print more every day. But this ticket-- There are only 5 of them in the whole world, and that's all there's ever going to be. Only a dummy would give this up for something as common as money. Are you a dummy?

No, Grampa George, I am not a dummy, and I wouldn't trade this adventure and my life for something as common as money. (We have enough for what we need, Ma, I don't want you to worry, I just like to have enough for everything I want ;) )

So like the Garth Brooks song says (I find most of life problems can be solved with Garth Brooks songs), I'm taking my own advice and loving my life and never trading. And the next five years are going to an awesome adventure that will one day end and I'll be blogging about how I am so proud of Tony for graduating, and maybe some one will look at my post and be a little depressed or jealous. My advice I will give to them, live your life, love your life, because this adventure will never happen again.
