Rockin' it with Bryan and Leah

This past weekend we were super lucky to have Bryan and Leah come and visit us. It was a good thing too, Tony hadn't had his Bryan fix in about a year and I'm afraid it was starting to show (he got all twitchy and stuff ;)). hehehe.
It was real fun to have them here. Bryan, Tony and Liam went to get their hair cut. The first non-Kira haircut since we lived in Utah. And Liam came back like this. (Tony told him to do the "scary" faces)
His frohawk was tipped with red gel. Liam thought it was awesome!

Then Saturday some fantastic friends watched our kids so we could have an all-day double date with Bryan and Leah. We walked across Centennial Bridge. It was awesome!

We went to the arsenal and checked out the big guns.
Had some ice cream, went to the movie Super 8 (It was good and scared me half to death, but I'm a wuss like that), ate at Applebee's and I got my fix of card games while they were here. (so I stopped twitching too)
The only bad thing about when they come is that they bring all their toys that make me desperately want them too. They brought their digital cannon camera, and I MUST HAVE ONE!! Seriously every picture you took turned out awesome!
And they brought this. An ipad. I never thought I would want one, until I played with it. And Liam and Emma wouldn't put the darn things down.
On Sunday Tony played hookey from church for a fathers day present (I took all the kids) and went and saw the air show with the Tuttles. Bryan's eating planes.
Tony's eating planes
After church we went to Schutzen Park and had a picnic. This little girl fell in love with Leah. She asks about her every day now. Luckily we will see them in Utah in August, or else I think Emma would have had a melt down when they left.

It was a super fun weekend! We can't wait until August so we can play again!!

Liam is 6!!

Happy Birthday to this guy!! (about a week ago :))
We all woke up bright and early to open presents (as you can tell by Tony's sleepy eyes :)) (and yes Emma is naked...well at least she had underwear. It was a hot night!)
Liam was super excited to open his presents. When we asked him what he wanted he replied, "whatever you want to get me." Easy boy to please :)
Yay, new shoes!! He needed summery shoes and can't run in flip flops so these sandals were the bomb!
Dry erase markers?
CANDY!!
I made him this dry erase bag. He always wants to color and draw and uses up all our paper, so this way he can color and draw, then erase it and do it all again!
Liam and Emma got right to work breaking in the new bag
hehe
Liam asked for muffins, eggs and toast for breakfast. We talked him into muffins eggs and bacon. Then he wanted sausage pizza for lunch (whoever taught him to like sausage pizza...the sickos). We had a fun day of swim lessons, family museum, a friends play and playing with friends while mom went to relief society.
Happy Birthday baby boy!! :)

Liam and Emma's Pirate party bash!

Hooray!! Today was Liam and Emma's combined Pirate party!!

Each child/pirate got a pirate map that showed were they had to go. They had to get each game marked off and then they got to the "X marks the spot!"
Shooting the Kraken! They had to shoot the kraken with marshmallow guns! The sign for this one said "Beware the Kraken! Quick! The Kraken be attackin the ship! Grab yer dart gun and shoot it! But be careful, someone might lose an eye!" For their prize they got an eyepatch :)

They also had to do "Pegleg Pete's Hop. Sees if ye can hop like PegLeg Pete. Hop to yer pirate gear (hat, eyepatch and hook), put it on and hop back!" For a prize they got a pirate tattoo.
Sorry, this one somehow slipped in here...Look at how cute they are! Sharing! hehehe
Oops, this one slipped in too...:) Telling a secret to her bestest buddy, Daniel.
They also got a new pirate name (I got the idea, and many of the others here). Their were three different bags; a first (names like slow, fat, sleepy, Red), middle or boy/girl (ie. Polly, Jack, John, Wilma) and Last (ie. Blackbeard, Sparrow, Silver). Every child drew one name out of each bag and then that was their new pirate name. Some of my favorites were Sleepy Sammy Pegleg, Loud Tina Thunder, Scared Frank McGee, and Round Ernie Blackbeard :)
They made and decorated pirate hats.
And threw scurvy rats (demonstrated here :)). "Scurvy Rat Toss! Help! The ship is infested with scurvy rats! Throw em in the bucket so we can toss em overboard!" I made the scurvy rats out of an old pair of socks felt and pink ribbon for the tail. Totally awesome! Here they got a pirate bracelet.
After they filled up their map they got to find the "X marks the spot" Which was the Candy Booty!!
(and cupcakes :))
It was a super fun pirate party with lots of super cute pirates
Then we ate Kraken Dogs
A watermelon shark with fruit salad, Deep Sea Jigglers, Cannon Balls (aka meatballs), Cap'n Hooks Salsa, and chips! Yummy!!

Last of all everyone ate their cupcakes, and we discovered why black frosting is such a good idea for pirate party!
Piratey teeth!!
and tongues
And I couldn't leave out this little pirate. Sleepy Sammy PegLeg, my favorite scowlin' pirate baby.
I had quite a few friends taking pictures so hopefully eventually I'll get to put a few more up! :) Happy Piratey birthday Liam and Emma!
It sure was a fun birthday party! :)

Liam and Emma-isms

So I really do have Liam birthday pictures and stuff to post, but I need to write these down before I forget them.

(as seen on Facebook)
Liam-"Mom, what day does the mail come on?"
Me-"What?"
Liam- "Does the mail come on Mondays?"
Emma-(in her 'duh' voice) "Milk comes from cows."
Its like I live in an old folks home...

Liam is playing the PS3 and calls into me, doing the dishes
Liam-"Mom! I have to fight this guy with the white coat!!"
Me-(having no idea what he is talking about, but seeing that it is important to him) "You can doooo it! I know you..."
Liam- "I already died." (Then giggles to himself) "I guess I can't do it, haha"

Emma is running a race (aka running around in circles in the living room), while Liam "rests" on the couch.
Liam-Oh no Emma! Someone is beating you!!
Emma squeals in her high girly squeal
Liam- (after making shooting noises) "don't worry I shot the guy beating you"
Me-(In cleaning the bathroom) "Hey Liam!! We don't shoot guys that are beating us" (all of which was completely ignored by my kids)
Liam-(to Emma) Now all you have to do is beat the turtle
Emma-(evil laugh to herself) "turtles are slow"
Liam and Emma-Yay! Emma won!!
Clearly my kids need a lesson in sportsmanship...

See now aren't you glad I hurried and wrote all that down? :)

Lazy Summer Days

So I knew that I liked summer before, but now that I have a kid in school, summer is flippin' awesome!! (Said in your best Napoleon Dynamite voice) Seriously though, I love it! (The new van may have something to do with my new love for summer also...) I love not having to be anywhere. We have a lot planned, but it's all fun-er stuff. And I love that my kids are all together. They play so great! And also tease each other into screaming fits so great. It's fantastic. Liam and Emma had their first swimming lessons today. They rocked it...at least I think they did...(they have the parents stay a ways away at picnic tables while the kids swim, aaannndd their might have been a few ladies from my ward there that I decided to chat with rather than watch my kids) but they told me they rocked it. Then we headed home for a delicious lunch of mac and cheese-hence where the pictures come from.

This is where Fox is half the time I make food
Fox growling at me

Fox is not a fan of mac and cheese. Which is funny because this kid eats ANYTHING!- Especially pasta. But this is the second time I've tried to give him mac and cheese from a box. Clearly he likes the real stuff better...good boy...:)

Liam has antlers

He really doesn't like it

I love lazy summer days.
