Tony's birthday

My hansom husband turned 34 on October 12 this year (he's so old ;))! Grandma Bundy had flown in just a few days before, so we decided it would be fun to head to Omaha for Tony's birthday. The Winter Quarters temple (our temple) is there and we had yet to go to it. So bright and early on the 12th we loaded the kids into the car and headed out (it's a 2 1/2- 3 hour trip). Grandma Bundy was kind enough to hang out with the kids while Tony and I were able to do a session. It was awesome and at 38 weeks pregnant, very entertaining. :) I did get a lot of "you're so cute" and "please don't have the baby today" comments. It was super fun and well needed.

After the temple we headed to Omaha zoo. We got there around 1:00 and stayed until they closed at 6:00 and probably only saw about 1/3 of the zoo! It's huge!! So get ready for an overhaul of pictures. And it seems the computer just threw them in wherever, so they are not in order :)

It was a great day and a good way to celebrate such a great guy! Happy birthday, Tony!!

Happy Birthday Fox!!

My baby boy turned 4 on October 5th. All I can say is good thing that I have another one on the way, or this birthday would have been way too hard ;). I keep telling Fox that he has to stay my baby and stop growing, and he always answers that I have another baby in my tummy, so I should stop worrying about it. :)

We love our Fox. He is so sweet, silly, crazy, and the biggest tease. His mind is always going and we can't get him to shut up (Really. Grandma Bundy has been here for just over a week and even she has commented on his constant talking.). I love it and it exhausts me all at the same time :).

He is all about super heroes right now. He loves the Hulk, Batman, Captain America, any of the Avengers, ect.  He also is into a "is this real?" phase. "Mom, are dragons real?" "Mom, are tornados real?" "Mom, is Nacho (El Macho on Despicable Me 2) real?" It's mostly a constant thing, and we try to answer as best and honestly as we can.

He is one of my best buddies. I love him with all of my heart. And even though sometimes I wish he would stop talking for just a little while sometimes, I love to hear what he has to say and see a little glimpse of how his mind works. He makes me very happy, and I am so grateful that he is mine.

(Tony helped make already messy Emma and Fox a little bit messier)

Happy birthday Super Fox!!

Random Phone Pictures

Mmmm, Ice cream sandwiches...

 Building dinosaurs at the library

I may or may not have let the kids watch "the Mummy" (it was one of those times where in my head I was thinking, 'I don't remember it being scary, just funny.' Of course I was in my teens the first time I saw it...) anywho... You know the part at the beginning were they dump the bugs on the "mummy" guy? That's what Fox was doing to Tony here.

Emma and Fox

I've got to get a few of these thoughts and stories down before I forget them.

Emma (the other night at dinner)-"Why do they have kitty (kiddie) pools? Cats don't even like water."

Best part of this story is that I took the time to explain to her that it was kiDDie pools and not kiTTy pools, to which she replied, "um, no." and didn't believe me.

This next one may be one of my all-time favorites of Fox's quotes. Which, if you know the kid, is saying quite a bit. It was just so inappropriate, yet innocent, I still laugh whenever I think about it.

A few days ago after I sent the kids off to school I went and laid back down in bed to cuddle up next to Tony until he got up and headed to school. Fox came in, to see what was going on, and noticed that I didn't have any blankets on.

Fox- "Mom, you don't have any blankets on! Don't worry, I will keep you warm."

He then proceeded to, very carefully, crawl over me, and was very mindful not to climb on top of giant baby belly. He then laid his head gingerly on my shoulder and said, "There. Now you are warm."

I smiled and thanked him as he curled up next to me and had a sweet, little, content smile on his face. Just has I was thinking to myself, 'I have the most adorable, thoughtful, little boy,' when he looked up at me and sweetly/innocently said, "Yeah, but Mom, you're kind of stink-kay!" He said it sweetly/innocently until he hit the word "stink-kay!" Then he just blurted that out without holding anything back.

Tony and I both burst out laughing. My stomach hurt from laughing so hard...and then I went and took a shower. The End.

Beware: Sleep deprived post

Its 5:30 in the morning, and between the baby having hiccups, my stomach feeling like its trying to eat itself, and my brains inability to shut up I've been awake the last couple of hours. Which is not such a good thing. It means that sometime to today I'm going to crash (even worse than I usually do) and totally be out of it. This baby is taking his toll on me. I'm tired a lot. But at least I'm not sick any more, right?

But don't worry, I'm now up, writing my sleep deprived, mindless thoughts on my blog, and have eaten a pb&j sandwich. So I'm good. The baby seems to have settled down-no more hiccups-now if only my brain would turn off. Or at least try to make some sort of sense.

I went to my doctor/midwife appointment yesterday. I was nervous about going because the appointment before hadn't gone so well. Between gaining 6 pounds in 2 weeks (yay, go me?), and measuring 6 weeks bigger than I should have (I measured 38 weeks at week 32), I was terrified of what this doctors appointment would bring.

They scheduled yet another ultrasound for yesterday to see exactly what was going on. Three with one baby...I had one ultrasound with Liam...that's it. So three with one baby is still a little crazy for me. I went in sure that they were going to tell me that at 34 weeks I have a eight pound baby. Actually, it wasn't that far off. No, he's already 6 pounds 4 ounces, "give or take a pound." (Meaning he could be 5 pounds...or he could be 7). I still have 6 weeks to go. And I'm at the point where they gain a ton. He's going to be a gianormous baby.  But he's healthy as can be.

The adorable, grandma-aged, ultrasound lady kept saying "Oh, Kira, he's just so content." I couldn't figure out what in the world she was talking about, because that little squirming kid would not hold still and was doing some type of acrobatics in my stomach while she was doing the ultra sound. Finally she explained to me why she thought he was so content. She pulled up a picture of his stomach and said, "See the lining/skin around his stomach?" I did. It looked like a whiter oval than the rest of the picture. "Well," she continued, "usually that is as thick as a pencil mark..." My baby's stomach "skin" was the size of a big ol' fat felt tip marker. All that extra was fat. Oh, yes, he is very content, and already chunky...and I still have six weeks to go. She added at the end of the ultra sound, "When you have this baby, will you have them call me and tell me how big he was? I'd be very interested to know." Great. But I liked her a lot anyways because at sometime during the ultrasound she exasperatedly said to me, "I can't get a really good picture because your so thin that there's not enough room (insert "fat" here, in my head) between you and the baby." That's why I now love her.

But in good news, I lost two of the six pounds I gained, and I'm now measuring 37 weeks (at 34). So they all chilled out and accepted my "yes, I know this baby is going to be big, but I've delivered big babies before."  But inside, I'm really crying. Just kidding. Fox was just as "easy" to deliver as the other two...because delivery is so easy...(silent sobbing).

A few other random things (mostly things I put on fb, but want a copy here)-
Fox is convinced the baby's name is Harry Potter. I asked him what he thought of another name and he said, "Yeah, that's good...but his name is already Harry Potter."

Liam bought (with his own money) a roll of gag toilet paper. One that wont tear. I thought it was funny at first, until I realized who would be the one getting the brunt of the "joke". Being very pregnant and running in to use the bathroom when I feel that all is well, and then realizing the toilet paper won't tear off, is not my idea of a good time. Worse, we had the sister missionaries stop by. One used our bathroom, we had a nice chat and then they headed on their way. Right after, I ran to...relieve myself, only to find the gag toilet paper had once again replaced the real stuff! Poor sister missionary. She never said a darn thing.

Fox got out of bed the other night and mumbled something to me a few times. Finally, around the third time of me saying, "What?" He replied, "I can't sleep."
"Why not, Fox?"
"Because my nose feels fake."
I should have been a better mom and quickly replaced his "fake" nose with a real one, but instead I told him to just get back in bed. Sometimes I'm not quick enough on my feet when my kids say crazy things like that.

Fox's compliment of the day (about a week ago) to me-(I had a shepherds pie in the oven, cooking for dinner) "Mom, I like that pie! I wish it was a dessert pie, though, because I REALLY like dessert pie."

Emma. I wish I could think of a story about Emma. I know she's done silly things, but I can't think of them. She's my sweet yet mischievous girl. So I know I have stories about her...if only I could recall them...I'll have to pay closer attention this next week and write some of them down.

Alright, I'm going to go try to sleep the next 45 minutes before I have to get up and get my kiddos off to school. Pray for me ;)

Happenings at the Bundy house

Here's what's been happening at the Bundy house lately

Liam lost another tooth! Which made me super excited because now he can sing "all I want for Christmath are my two front teeth." Hopefully they don't grow back in too fast ;)

Tony had "dress like a cowboy" day at work. He didn't tell me and I may or may not have insensitively burst out laughing when he came in dressed like this. He sure is cute ;). When he came home from work he also had a cheapy badge that said "sheriff Tony" on it, which made the outfit that much cooler.

We made delicious mozzarella, tomato, and pesto grilled sandwiches. I had to brag. They were delish.

A couple days ago, the kids came running in and told me there was a bunny stuck down in our window well. I made Liam climb down there to catch it (because I'm a wuss) and we tried to let it go. Then it ran right back into another one of our window wells. So we put it in a bucket and called Grandma Bundy to learn what we should do (Tony was at work). We fed it some lettuce, gave it some water, then waited until dad got home.

The next morning we decided that it would probably be happier/survive better out in the wild than stuck in a bucket in our garage. So we woke up early so everyone could play with the bunny (because Tony was home and was brave enough to pick up the bunny, unlike me.)

Then we went to our favorite "spooky woods" (that's what Grandma Wendy calls them) and let the little guy go. Hopefully he survives :/

And last but not least here's a picture of me...
At my 24 weeks appointment I was measuring 28 (2 weeks more)
At my 28 week appointment I was measuring 31 (3 weeks more)
And yesterday at my 30 week appointment I was measuring 34 (4 weeks more)...

This baby is going to, once again, be huge (silent sobbing ;)). He's growing ridiculously fast.
My mom asked for a picture so I took this lame selfie. Then I figured maybe one day I would want to know what I looked like at 30 weeks too, so now it's on here (ugh.)
Notice Emma's little pudgy fingers in the corner :). She's growing up super fast, but I love that she still has pudgy baby fingers. She's not too old yet :). (Or, now that I think about it, maybe she just has her Mom's forever pudgy fingers...poor kid.)

Rantings of a Pregnant Woman

Rantings means-Speak or shout at length in a wild, impassioned way.

Did you know? I sure didn't. But when I looked it up to make sure that it was for sure a word, or at least the type of word I was looking for, I learned. So here I go speaking at length in a wild impassioned way...

Is it bad that I keep seeing things like diapers, wipes, and nursing pads, and think, 'oh, yeah. Shoot. I've got to buy those at sometime.'

I felt a lot more on top of that type of thing with my other kids. I'm afraid with this kid I'll be sending Tony from the hospital to pick them up.

I read a thing today that said, "Want to know what having a fourth kid is like? Imagine you are drowning and then someone hands you a baby." I don't think any statement has been more true.

I began making my Christmas list a few days ago. Yeah, I'm that lady. Okay, really, not usually. But Tony usually asks me around the beginning of December what I want for Christmas/my birthday and for months before that I have all these brilliant ideas of things I would like--that would make my life so much better or easier--and then in the heat of the asking moment I can't think of a darn one. So I say lame things like clothes, or the latest dumb movie. So I'm changing it.

One thing on my list is a new bra. I got real excited when I thought of this one because my current favorite bra is fantastic, but like 5 years old, and is slowly losing its "lifting-power." It cost a lot of money, and I thought, 'Sweet, this year I can spend a lot of money again and get a new springy bra!' And then I remembered I would be nursing. Crap. I hate nursing bras.

For Liam and possibly Emma I had some cheapy Walmart nursing bra that did little other than hang there. Poor Tony. Poor all the people that had to see me. When Fox was born I wised up and bought a nice one from Motherhood, but still I hate nursing bras. I want an attractive bra. But I guess this year I'll get a nursing bra and next year a new springy bra.

I read a couple of things yesterday about postpartum. The whole time I did it I thought, 'dang. I remember that.' 'Oh, yeah, you did feel crappy for the first several weeks, shoot.' I probably shouldn't have read it. It's lucky these kids are born so darn cute.

This baby boy is like the thing (alien?) from Alien. I swear he is trying to pop right out the front of my stomach. He is constantly moving...and pushing...and clawing. Today Tony had his hand on my stomach and I said "Do you feel him!?" Tony shook his head. I looked down and replied, "Tony, his foot is pushing out like two inches!" Tony just laughed. Stinkin' tease of a boy. I'll say one thing- This kid is going to come out strong.

I love him though. Already. It's been nice having older kids. I've had more time being able to bond with this baby. I don't have to run around changing diapers or trying to potty train. At times I can just sit down and watch my little alien baby try to escape, then painfully push his appendage back in, or out of my ribs, or away from my poor bloated, pokey-out belly button.
