First day of school 2011

Liam started first grade this year. Can you believe it? Yeah, neither can I. But he got a teacher whom I'm super excited about, and he's doing awesome already. They started super early this year (August 15th!). We got home from our Utah trip (more blogging to come on that later) on Saturday the 13th and then he started that next Sunday! Its been crazy!! But fun and good! Liam got his Transformers backpack and is looking all sorts of fancy for school :)

Horseback Riding

A few days ago, we loaded up the kids (Liam, Emma, Fox, Mallory, William, and Gracie) and headed over to the Naugle's house, where Stevie let us ride his horses. It was a blast! Each kid got to ride twice and loved every moment of it! Except for my sister, Lisa, who may or may not have had a slight melt down ;)

Fishing with Grandpa

Did you know there's a little fishing pond/swimming hole up by Timp temple? Neither did I. But it's awesome! 4 caught "baby" fish + fun with Grandpa = We will be returning. :)

Emma is 4!!

On Emma's birthday this year we woke up bright and early, hopped into the van, and headed to Utah!! Not such a fun thing to do on your birthday (driving from 5:30am to 9:00pm, and that was just the first day), but we tried to make it as fun as possible. She got to choose the first movie, treats in the gas station, and where we ate dinner (a little hole-in-the-wall Chinese place), and then we got ice cream!! (memo to me: "little" size cones at dairy queen are still to big, get "kid" sized...oh and the youngest always manages to eat the most and make the biggest mess)

Happy Birthday Emma!!

Rockin' it with Bryan and Leah

This past weekend we were super lucky to have Bryan and Leah come and visit us. It was a good thing too, Tony hadn't had his Bryan fix in about a year and I'm afraid it was starting to show (he got all twitchy and stuff ;)). hehehe.

It was real fun to have them here. Bryan, Tony and Liam went to get their hair cut. The first non-Kira haircut since we lived in Utah. And Liam came back like this. (Tony told him to do the "scary" faces)

His frohawk was tipped with red gel. Liam thought it was awesome!

Then Saturday some fantastic friends watched our kids so we could have an all-day double date with Bryan and Leah. We walked across Centennial Bridge. It was awesome!

We went to the arsenal and checked out the big guns.

Had some ice cream, went to the movie Super 8 (It was good and scared me half to death, but I'm a wuss like that), ate at Applebee's and I got my fix of card games while they were here. (so I stopped twitching too)

The only bad thing about when they come is that they bring all their toys that make me desperately want them too. They brought their digital cannon camera, and I MUST HAVE ONE!! Seriously every picture you took turned out awesome!

And they brought this. An ipad. I never thought I would want one, until I played with it. And Liam and Emma wouldn't put the darn things down.

On Sunday Tony played hookey from church for a fathers day present (I took all the kids) and went and saw the air show with the Tuttles. Bryan's eating planes.

After church we went to Schutzen Park and had a picnic. This little girl fell in love with Leah. She asks about her every day now. Luckily we will see them in Utah in August, or else I think Emma would have had a melt down when they left.

It was a super fun weekend! We can't wait until August so we can play again!!
